Kelly Ripa paused her normal social media programming to congratulate her longtime friend, Anderson Cooper.
Yesterday, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 51, posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram Story in honor of Cooper, who recently welcomed his second child via surrogate: a baby boy named Sebastian.
Ripa kicked things off by sharing a throwback photo of herself and Cooper embracing for the camera.
Ripa also shared a video of Cooper’s announcement on Anderson Cooper 360. In the clip (screenshot below), the broadcaster displayed a photo of his first child, Wyatt (1).
Right on cue, Cooper revealed that he and his former partner, Benjamin Maisani, have welcomed a second child. (FYI, Cooper and Maisani are no longer together, but they’ve agreed to co-parent Wyatt and Sebastian.)
“Well, this is Wyatt today. He’s nearly 22 months old and he is sweet and funny and the greatest joy in my life,” Cooper said. “If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him.”
Cooper followed up with a never-before-seen photo of baby Sebastian.
The proud dad confirmed that he couldn’t be more thrilled about the family’s latest addition. “He is healthy and happy—even his occasional hiccups are to me adorable,” Cooper said. “He mostly just sleeps and eats, and he certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap.”
