Kate Middleton Just Celebrated World Photography Day with a Gorgeous Tribute on Instagram

In addition to her duties as royal, Kate Middleton loves to spend time on the side honing her photography skills. Throughout the years, she's shown off her talents by snapping portraits of various family members and even compiling a photography book during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, naturally, it makes sense that the Duchess of Cambridge would want to highlight a holiday that celebrates one of her favorite hobbies.

This past Friday, August 19 was World Photography Day, and Middleton made sure to recognize the special day on the Instagram account she shares with her husband, Prince William.

However, instead of just making any old regular post, Middleton took the opportunity to spotlight four British photographers whose work she admires. An image from each of the artists was shared to the royal's Instagram, along with a caption that said, “There are so many incredibly talented young photographers in Britain today, which is why this #WorldPhotography Day we're spotlighting four individuals who have been supported by @nationalportraitgallery and @royalphotographicsociety, and are doing amazing things.”

The four lucky photographers were Kymara Akinpelumi, Sadie Catt, Isabel Salmon and Rueben Kidd, who each were given a small bio in the rest of the Instagram caption.

It seems Middleton chose well, because royal followers showed their admiration for the pictures in the comments section, like one user who said, “Gorgeous photos.” Another wrote, “Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing!” The official account for the National Portrait Gallery also chimed in, writing, “Such amazing shots and great photographers, we can’t wait to see what they go on to do next!”

In the past few years, Middleton has always found unique ways to celebrate World Photography Day. For instance, back in 2019, the Duchess of Cambridge worked with the Royal Photographic Society to run a photography workshop with kids from the Action for Children charity. Then, a number of pics taken by one of the participants was shared to the duchess's official Instagram.

We always love seeing how Kate celebrates this photo-centric holiday.
