Royal Fan Finds Rare Personal Note from Kate Middleton Hidden Inside Book—Here's What It Said

Last week, we learned that Kate Middleton was sending U.K. citizens on a scavenger hunt around the country for copies of her new photo book, Hold Still. In addition, we found out that each copy included a special note from the duchess herself.

On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge announced that she had teamed up with The Book Fairies U.K. to share copies of the book with people around the country. Per an Instagram slideshow, the 39-year-old revealed that book fairies, the other Hold Still participants were leaving copies at places that gave them hope during the lockdown.

According to the caption, “Each copy is adorned with a gold book fairy sticker, gold ribbon, and has a letter from The Duchess tucked inside.” Lucky for us, one Twitter user (Krish) who found a copy was kind enough to share Middleton’s message on social media.

“The Hold Still book documents a photography project which captured a portrait of our nation as we lived through the first COVID-19 lockdown last year," Middleton wrote. “The images tell the stories of the challenges we all faced, but also how we came together in the most extraordinary of times. I am proud to have worked closely with the National Portrait Gallery on this project, and thrilled that the Book Fairies across the country are returning the images to the communities at the heart of Hold Still.”

The note continued, “Once you have finished looking through the book, please leave it somewhere else in your community for the next person to enjoy. With my very best wishes, Catherine.”

And we thought we couldn’t love this idea any more.
