Kate Middleton’s Personal Secretary, Catherine Quinn, Just Stepped Down

Major royal news today: Kate Middleton’s personal secretary, Catherine Quinn, is officially stepping down. And you know what that means—there’s going to be a Kensington Palace job opening sooner rather than later.

According to the Daily Mail, the 37-year-old Duchess of Cambridge and Quinn are parting ways on the “best of terms” after two years of working together. So why the big change? According to the publication, Quinn was already looking to downshift in her career when she was approached with the personal secretary role. Her desire to step down as Middleton’s go-to gal came to be because she wants to work part-time with a charity, simple as that.

Although the change wasn’t sparked by any drama, it will be an adjustment for the duchess. Quinn was involved in basically every part of Middleton’s working life, from handling her schedule to attending meetings and royal engagements with K-Middy.

Prior to her royal work, Quinn was the head of Oxford University’s business school and previously held senior positions at the Wellcome Trust and the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. She’s also a member of the Boards of the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Met Office and the Royal British Legion. She began her work with Middleton in October of 2017 and has been the central person on her team ever since.

Sure, this is unfortunate news for the duchess’s team, but it’s good news for those who wish to work alongside Middleton (aka everyone). Now, we wait for the job posting to go up online…
