Kensington Palace Just Posted a Super Glam Throwback Pic of Queen Elizabeth

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (also known as Prince William and Kate Middleton) are attending the Royal Variety Performance in London tonight. And in honor of the event, the official @KensingtonRoyal account shared a series of throwback photographs (including one of Queen Elizabeth).

The post features four snaps of members of the royal family attending the event throughout the years. But the one that stands out most? A black and white photograph of Her Majesty arriving for the Performance in 1952. Yep, you read that correctly.

See the slideshow of photos below.

Wow.

We first learned that the Kate and William would be attending the performance earlier this month, when Kensington Palace tweeted the news.

Tonight will mark the third time the duke and duchess have attended the performance at the Palladium Theatre, following their 2014 and 2017 appearances.

The annual performance is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity (of which Queen Elizabeth is patron). The money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the U.K. who are struggling with old age, ill health or hard times.

Hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, the event will include performances from Sir Rod Stewart, the cast of Mary Poppins, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Robbie Williams, the cast of Come from Away, and a special collaboration by Emeli Sandé and Manchester’s Bee Vocal choir.

Sounds like an epic date-night.
