When Kate Middleton Likes Something, She Buys It in Every (Royal-Approved) Color
Kate Middleton knows how to repeat an outfit with aplomb. After some highly scientific research (J.K.), we’ve come to notice she doesn’t just recycle her favorite looks—she buys them in other colors as well.
As Harper’s Bazaar Australia points out, the 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge owns a handful of pieces in two, three and even four colors. Here, four times Middleton abided by the adage, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Emilia Wickstead Coatdress: 2012, 2012, 2012, 2018
Middleton has four slightly different versions (scope the neckline on the red number) of the same Emilia Wickstead coatdress in teal, red, bubblegum pink and millennial pink. Très chic.
Smythe Blazer: 2016 vs. 2018
She rocked a navy Smythe “Duchess” blazer on her first royal tour with Prince William in 2011 and an olive-green one when she mixed up her style and shocked us all by wearing wide-legged slacks in Cyprus this December.
Alexander McQueen Dress: 2017 vs. 2018
The duchess looked to McQueen again for both her 2017 Trooping the Colour frock and the one she wore to Princess Eugenie’s wedding. She put a fresh spin on the raspberry version by adding puff sleeves.
Alexander McQueen Coatdress: 2015 vs. 2018
For Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015, Kate looked pristine in an ivory version of the Sarah Burton–designed coatdress. She donned the same frock in Cinderella blue at a Royal Air Force celebration in July.
