A beautiful gift

In support of those affected by the tragic July 2024 knife attack at a children's dance class, Prince William and Kate Middleton paid a visit to Southport earlier this week, where they met with the victims’ families.

The three victims—Bebe King (6), Elsie Dot Stancombe (7) and Alice Dasilva Aguiar (9)—were killed while participating in a class at Hart Space dance studio. During Wednesday’s emotional visit, Kate and William toured the girls’ schools and met with their families privately.

But it was hard not to notice what the royals were wearing on their wrists. While meeting with Bebe’s mother, Lauren King, the couple was gifted matching friendship bracelets with the words "Bebe's Hive” on them, a nod to the grief support charity founded in Bebe’s honor. Afterwards, Lauren spoke with GB News about the visit, telling the publication, “It meant everything…it was really special.”

She continued, “I think we’re really grateful anyway how Bebe’s been honored so much in this school, and seeing the prince and princess support that and be here has been just amazing.”

The Prince and Princess wore the bracelets through the remainder of the day, which included visiting a new playground at Bebe and Alice's school, Churchtown Primary, where Prince William made a speech addressed to the victims' families and fellow students.

“This playground is a symbol of how the community have come together to create such a positive place for the pupils of this school — a symbol of remembrance and resilience, a testament that love will always overcome tragedy,” he told the crowd, adding, “Many lives were changed on that terrible day – including countless members of this school community. Bebe, Alice and Elsie’s friends and classmates have come together to support each other and remember the girls in their own way.”

A touching gesture, indeed.
