This isn’t the first time the Duchess of Cambridge has spread awareness about Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020 (hitting bookshelves on May 7). Earlier this week, Middleton shared a personal message on Instagram and announced that the finalists for her photography project, Hold Still, will appear in the book, which will be published by the National Portrait Gallery.
She wrote, “Through Hold Still, I wanted to use the power of photography to create a lasting record of what we were all experiencing – to capture individuals’ stories and document significant moments for families and communities as we lived through the pandemic. C.”
The Duchess of Cambridge originally launched the Hold Still initiative back in May 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The goal was to “help capture the spirit, the mood, the hopes, the fears and the feelings of the U.K.” with photos taken by people across the United Kingdom.
Thank you, Kate, for giving us an excuse to purchase yet another coffee table book.
