Kate Middleton Shows Off Her ‘Cool Mom’ Skills During Latest Outing in Wales

Kate Middleton showed off her ‘cool mom’ skills by handing out high fives during her royal engagement on Tuesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the South Wales resort of Mumbles, where they met with rescue crew members and volunteers at the RNLI Mumbles Lifeboat Station and watched the crew undertake a launch.

Despite the winds, the mom of three appeared delighted as she was leaving the local station, where she stopped to speak with children and give out high fives instead of traditional handshakes.

Middleton looked stunning in a navy coat from Hobbs over a red Zara dress with a black belt. She paired the look with a red clutch by Mulberry and a red-and-pink heart-printed scarf (still available online). The trip was especially meaningful for the duchess, because she met her former prep school teachers, Denise Evans-Alford and her husband Kevin Alford, who were in the crowd.

If you didn’t know, Middleton and William lived in North Wales during the early years of their marriage. Later in the day, the pair stopped for some ice cream at Joe’s Ice Cream Parlour and also paid a visit to the Tata Steelworks (the U.K.’s largest steel plant) in nearby Port Talbot.

High fives and ice cream? Sounds like the best day ever.
