There Was a Major Shift in Kate Middleton’s Body Language During Yesterday's Outing

She's in her element

I was so distracted by Kate Middleton and Prince William’s PDA on Commonwealth Day that I nearly missed the major shift in the princess’s body language

This week, the Princess of Wales, 43, joined her husband, 42, at Westminster Abbey for a service celebrating Commonwealth Day. There was a noticeable shift in her body language, especially when compared to photos of her on Remembrance Day (when she leaned on Duchess Sophie for support).

Throughout the day, Princess Catherine appeared extremely confident and in her element. Her shoulders were relaxed, despite the structured silhouette of her recycled red coat dress by Catherine Walker.

She sported a genuine, unforced smile when she arrived at Westminster Abbey and spotted the crowd of well-wishers, which makes me believe she was actually happy to be there.

Princess Catherine even used her go-to parenting move when she encountered a young girl. The royal bent down to the child’s eye-level, which can foster open communication and create a comfortable environment for children. Although she has used this move multiple times in the past, it usually indicates that she was comfortable enough to be herself.

There were moments when the Prince of Wales showed signs of nervousness, like when she turned her shoulders toward Prince William while standing in the doorway of Westminster Abbey. However, it didn’t take away from her confident glow. Instead, it confirmed that Prince William is still her biggest support system after all these years.

Couple goals is an understatement.
