Jennifer Lopez is rocking a new hairstyle these days. However, we're pretty sure it’s only temporary.
On Tuesday, the 51-year-old singer shared her brand-new cover shot for Allure Magazine. For the March 2021 (and 30th anniversary) issue, Lopez ditched her long highlighted locks and decided to switch things up with a messy pixie hairstyle. She topped off the look with a natural gloss and eyeshadow combo as well as a pair of gorgeous crystal chandelier earrings.
Per her caption, J.Lo had hair enthusiast, Chris Appleton, to thank for the chic ’do. And per the stylist, they were going for a “90s-inspired wet look crop.” According to Popsugar, Appleton used the Color Wow Dream Coat For Curly Hair “to give her hair some definition” followed by the Color Wow Pop and Lock Frizz-Control and Glossing Serum “to add shine.”
While we’re not positive, we’d make a small bet that the pixie is actually just a wig (and a pretty impressive one at that) considering Lopez has been sporting her long hair a lot recently (like at the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris). Either way, we like the refreshing change.
One of the last times we saw her Lopez go this short was back in early 2020 when the Hustlers actress surprised the crowd at the Film Independent Spirit Awards by showing up on the carpet with a blonde bob.
So, while the look may not last, one thing is for sure: Lopez knows how to rock any hairstyle.
