One of the many reasons we loved Jennifer Coolidge's character on The White Lotus was due to her variety of fabulous, eye-popping outfits. However in real life, the 61-year-old star pulls out plenty of showstopping looks too.
While attending the TIME 100 Gala at Lincoln Center, the Legally Blonde actress sported a black velvet dress from Balmain that was adorned with crystals on the shoulders, sleeves and skirt.
The custom FW23 gown was paired with a matching black clutch and sheer black gloves. However, once we were able to pull our eyes away from the dress, we also noticed that the Cinderella Story star was donning a totally different hairdo too.
For most red carpet events, Coolidge usually opts to wear her hair down. But for this gala, the Emmy-winning actress pulled out a surprise updo, leaving a few pieces hanging down to frame her face, while the rest was tied up in a bun on the back of her head.
Coolidge was named one of the 100 most-influential people by TIME earlier this month. The publication included a writeup from actress Mia Farrow, who reflected on her relationship with the White Lotus star.
“We met last year, while shooting the Netflix series The Watcher on a cavernous soundstage in Brooklyn,” Farrow wrote. “I asked the woman beside me in the makeup room, who without her usual glamorous styling looked for all the world like a sweet-faced kid, if she was Jennifer Coolidge, whose work I’ve long admired. She said she was, and I spent a rainy, slow-paced day sitting alongside her at the edge of set, chatting and laughing and just delighting in her company.”
Farrow also added, “She is uncompromisingly, exquisitely herself. Jennifer’s honesty and kindness make her a friend anyone would be lucky to have.”
