HBO Hid 6 Iron Thrones Around the World in Honor of ‘GoT’ Season 8—Here’s How to Find Them

With less than a month until the premiere of the eighth (and final) season of Game of Thrones, HBO is testing the loyalty of fans by channeling Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The network recently launched a brand-new marketing initiative called “Quest for the Throne.” Basically, HBO hid six Iron Thrones around the world, so fans can search for the props in anticipation of the premiere.

HBO already released a clue for the first throne, which features a 360-degree video of where the item is located. On the program’s website, there’s a countdown for how long fans have to claim the Iron Throne. Once the timer runs out, HBO will release another clue until all six thrones have been revealed.

In addition to Quest, the marketing initiative also includes two other categories: Bleed and Create. Bleed encourages fans to donate to the Red Cross Blood Drive, while Create highlights 18 GoT props that were reimagined by artists around the world.

Although we don’t know much about season eight, we do know it will begin with Queen Daenerys’s (Emilia Clarke) royal procession as she, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) arrive at Winterfell.

Who will claim the highly coveted Iron Throne? Only time will tell, but it appears Daenerys has some competition.
