Well, friends, she just revealed her menu for this year’s soirée, and let’s just say Jeffrey’s gonna love it.
“I like traditions as much as anyone but when my friends expect the usual hot dogs and hamburgers for July 4th, sometimes I like to shake things up,” the Barefoot Contessa explained on Instagram. “This year, I’m making my Watermelon Mojitos, Grilled Herbed Shrimp with Mango Salsa, Panzanella, and—just to have a little tradition!—my classic Flag Cake for dessert. It's an easy, summery menu I can make mostly in advance, so all I have to do is throw the shrimp on the grill just before dinner! What are you making for the 4th of July??”
That’s a trick question: She knows she had us at “watermelon mojitos,” right? And since almost everything on the Contessa’s menu is easily made ahead, we have plenty of time to prep for our own party before Thursday. Somebody get her beach party playlist queued up stat—we have cooking to do.
