Halle Berry’s Boyfriend Proposed—But She’s Hasn't Said Yes (Yet)

In the wise words of Beyoncé: “If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.” And it looks like Halle Berry's boyfriend Van Hunt took that advice to heart—or at least he's trying to. Apparently, Hunt already popped the question… he’s just still waiting on an answer.

“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” the 55-year-old musician shared during an interview with Today. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”

Halle and Van made things Instagram official back in September 2020. But if you’re wondering why the wedding bells haven’t rung just yet, Halle has a pretty clear reason.

“Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't,” the Never Let Go actress explained.

As a reminder, Berry was previously married to Olivier Martinez (the two divorced in 2015) and before that she was married to former MLB player David Justice and singer Eric Benét. So yeah, she’s definitely earned the right to take her time.

That said, it doesn't mean she's ruling out marriage—especially with Van. In fact, she revealed that she plans to say "I do," "soon".
