Halle Berry is channeling her inner Angela Davis with a stunning afro—and her boyfriend, Van Hunt, definitely approves.
On Instagram, the Bruised star posted a sunny snap of her latest 'do, featuring her natural, afro-textured hair, and it's giving major nostalgic vibes. "Sunday serve," wrote the 56-year-old actress, who's seen in a red plaid top. "My man loves this. Forward all complaints to him @vanhunt."
Why anyone would complain about this fabulous hairstyle is beyond us, and of course, the star's comments section was filled with compliments. One fan said, "I agree with your man." Another wrote, "Beautiful as always! You can rock any style and look amazing!"
In the past, the Oscar winner has gone through quite the hair transformation, from her long, brown waves to her bleach-blonde pixie cut.
Still, throughout her career, the star became known for rocking shorter hair—and it continues to be her go-to style.
In 2019, while speaking with InStyle for their 25th-anniversary issue, she explained that cutting her hair shorter actually boosted her self-esteem and even helped her career.
“When I got this haircut, I felt like my best self. I had no hair to hide behind,” Berry said. “It was just all me, take it or leave it, love it or hate it. It was who I was. I cut my hair short when I first became an actor and I finally got a job and I think that was because the directors and producers actually saw me."
She added, "I dared to cut it short and that actually got me my first job on Living Dolls. So, I have an affinity for short hair.”
Although Berry can certainly rock a pixie cut, we're absolutely loving the natural curls—and we couldn't agree more with Hunt.
