It appears season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is getting the royal treatment.
No, really. Amazon just added a new cast member to the upcoming season: Jazmin Grimaldi, who is the granddaughter of Princess Grace Kelly and the oldest daughter of Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The news first broke when Grimaldi shared a now-deleted photo on her personal Instagram account, according to Page Six. The pic featured the 27-year-old wearing a ’50s-inspired outfit with the caption, “And that’s a wrap…for now. Thank you for a MARVELOUS first experience.”
While this will be Grimaldi’s first major acting role, we’re not surprised that she’s following in her grandmother’s footsteps. In 2015, she sat down for an interview with Harper’s Bazaar and revealed that she hopes to carry on Kelly’s legacy.
“One of my first and fondest memories involving my grandmother was watching High Society,” she said. “It was the first time I realized we had a connection. I’m passionate about acting, singing and dancing.”
Although no further details about Grimaldi’s role have been revealed, we have no doubt it will be marvelous. (Sorry, had to.)
Season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is expected to premiere later this year on Amazon.
