More Episodes of ‘Gilmore Girls’ May Be in the Works & We're Trying Not to Freak Out

gilmore girls revival more episodes

We all know Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life left fans wanting more (helloooo, baby daddy cliffhanger). But new episodes of the beloved series might be coming our way, and we’re doing everything in our power not to freak out.

In a recent interview, Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino revealed that she’s all for a continuation of Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore’s (Alexis Bledel) story. She said, “We carved out a little niche for ourselves with Amazon saying that if we ever want to do it, if the girls and us get together and we have a concept that works, then we have the freedom to do it.”

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hit Netflix in November 2016 and instantly became the platform’s most binge-raced TV show (i.e., when someone finishes the entire season of a series within 24 hours of its release). While adding new episodes would be a no-brainer for Netflix, Sherman-Palladino said a lot of elements would need to line up, but it’s not completely out of the question.

She continued, “It would just have to be the right circumstances, and that we’re all sort of in the same drunken mood together to go repaint Stars Hollow again. Because we had to repaint Stars Hollow, and we’ll have to repaint it again. But it’s definitely possible.”

OK, now we can freak out.
