Gabrielle Union Just Recreated a 20-Year-Old Outfit (& She Totally Nailed It)

Gabrielle Union just proved that orange is the new black red.

The 48-year-old actress recently revisited her iconic portrayal of Conny Spalding in Two Can Play That Game for a little fashion inspiration, as well as to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2001 rom-com.

She shared a video on TikTok, writing, "When you been around so long old characters inspire new characters [laughing emoji] #PowerPony #conniespaulding #bonafied."

Union shared a clip from Two Can Play That Game, where the fierce Conny Spalding walks down the street in a bright red blazer and skirt combo, paired with a gold necklace and earrings. An audio snippet from the film plays over the video, featuring a woman's voice that says, "Conny Spalding, Vice President of Marketing and a Bonafide Ho."

Then, the video cuts to a new shot of Union, who has traded in the red set for a citrus-colored bodycon dress. The bright, zig-zag stitching is accentuated by a braided golden necklace and hoop earrings, which perfectly mirror the Spalding ensemble. Union even tied her crimped hair into a high pony, which she flips on cue.

Union spoke to Buzzfeed in 2016 about the Spalding character and even mentioned her legendary pony, saying, "I loved the idea to make it thick and big, and that she would just kinda swing it around. Like, it's an accessory. 'Cause it's not hers, obviously. It's obviously attached. And it comes off at night. It's a little bit like her sword, you know what I mean? The 'power pony.' It's part of the package: purse, pony, you know, hot red suit."

We're glad to see Union is refreshing some of her finest looks.
