HBO Max Unveils Trailer for New ‘Magic Mike’ Reality Competition Series (& Channing Tatum Would Be So Proud)

Back in April, we caught wind that a reality competition series centered around finding the “real Magic Mike” would be coming to HBO Max. Now, it looks our dreams are being realized.

HBO Max dropped the first trailer for the series, titled Finding Magic Mike, which will premiere on December 16. In the writeup from the streaming service, they said, “Ten regular guys who have ‘lost their magic’ are put through the paces of a Magic Mike Live bootcamp, baring their souls—and more—as they learn to perform sexy and daring dance routines with one being crowned the real Magic Mike. The winner will pocket a cash prize.”

While Channing Tatum is not listed as a star of the unscripted series (sadly), HBO Max revealed that there will be other high-profile guest judges, including Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thede and more. Check out the trailer below.

As we watch the group of men endure the tough bootcamp, we get a sense that this series will feature just as much dancing (and shirtlessness) as the blockbuster movies. But as cast member Adam Rodriguez says, “This isn't just about taking your clothes off, you're coming to see a show.”

Along with Rodriguez, the cast will feature Alison Faulk, Vincent Marini and Luke Broadlick. Other guest judges will include Whitney Cummings, Nikki Glaser and Amanda Seales.

Although Tatum won't be starring in the series, he still acted as an executive producer along with the director of the Magic Mike movies, Steven Soderbergh. And we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that the 21 Jump Street actor makes a surprise cameo at some point during the show.
