These Badass Shoelaces Are Working to Empower Women (and We're Like, ‘Amen')

We've never given much thought to shoelaces. They're kind of just there and they're all the same anyway, right? Wrong. Introducing (em)POWER Laces, a new line of laces dedicated to inspiring women—and anyone who supports women.

The laces are the first product from Women You Should Know (WYSK), a brand that's been championing women’s and girls’ empowerment since 2011. Per WYSK co-founder Jen Jones, "We wanted a simple, but super cool way—with a touch of fun 80s nostalgia—to stay motivated to keep up the good fight and raise our heads high each time we looked down. So, harnessing the power of words, we created one and it’s really resonating."

The collection currently includes five styles ($10 per pair), each with an inspirational word—badass, feminist, warrior and fearless—printed all over it.

(em)POWER Laces are made in America by a woman-owned company, and every purchase directly supports the work WYSK does to help women and girls empower themselves.

And worry not if you aren't really a sneaker person: They don't have to be worn as shoelaces. From tying them around your wrist to fixing them to your favorite handbag, there are a bunch of cool ways to show your support (and badassery).

We'll take all five, please and thanks.
