Here’s What the Stars Are Eating and Drinking at the 2019 Emmys

emmys food and drink

Ah, the Emmys—kicking off awards season early, with all the prestige TV, red-carpet fashion…and feasts? Yep, the stars will spend the night noshing on gourmet bites courtesy of the event’s official caterer, the Patina Group, and wines provided by Sterling Vineyards. Here’s what Hollywood will be eating and drinking all night long.

The Numbers

Throughout the evening, the A-listers will go through a cool 1,500 bottles of wine paired with 30,000 small plates from chef Joachim Splichal. FYI, that’s about 10,000 glasses of red, white and bubbly.

The Menu

Since you can’t survive four-plus hours of speeches and ceremony on just booze, tonight's menu consists of complementary food pairings to go with all that wine. Emilia Clarke and Jonathan Van Ness (and, you know, everyone else) will start the night with paella Valenciana, chicken croquettes and tomato tartar, paired with Sterling Vineyards 2017 Napa Valley Chardonnay. Next, they’ll nosh on Maine lobster and burrata (yum!) and yellow sashimi, paired with Sterling Vineyards 2017 Napa Valley sauvignon blanc. Moving onto the reds, they’ll find red-wine braised short ribs to complement the Sterling Vineyards 2016 Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. The 2015 Platinum cabernet sauvignon will accompany a round of sliders and Kobe meatballs from the famed Nick + Stef’s Steakhouse in New York City. Finally, the stars will end the night with the Sterling Vineyards 2015 Iridium cabernet sauvignon—which, according to the brand, is the second vintage of its rarest wine and has notes of burnt plum, black cherry, caramel toffee and espresso along with rich, polished tannins.

Meanwhile, we’ll be eating takeout pizza and popcorn—not that that’s a bad thing.
