You Could Get Paid $50K to Be This Family’s Nanny…but You’ll Have to Dress as a Disney Princess for the Job

Wanted: a part-time nanny for 5-year-old twin girls…who’s willing to dress as a Disney princess for the job.

No, we didn’t make that up—it’s part of a self-described “slightly unusual” job post from one U.K.-based family. As if babysitting wasn’t difficult enough…imagine doing it in a Moana costume.

The parents’ reasoning? Their kids are Disney-obsessed (fair enough) and they think it’s the best way to enrich those developing minds with important values.

Straight from the listing: “We know this isn’t a normal request for nannies, however we think it would be a great way to teach our girls about things like determination, compassion, fearlessness and ambition from strong yet relatable female role models like Princess Tiana, Princess Anna, Belle and Cinderella.”

Strong yet relatable. OK.

Along with the usual nannying responsibilities, other tasks include: Disney-related activities like baking, arts and crafts and singing. The ideal candidate? Someone who can commit to the character but also be a disciplinarian for said “little terrors” (their words, not ours). Because the only thing more effective than giving a time-out is giving a time-out while wearing a Frozen costume.

The job will pay “around £40,000 a year” (about $53,000), princess costumes included. Pros and cons, people.
