The Real Winner of Oscars 2017: Collar Necklaces

The night had highs (drone cookies! mom dates!) and not so highs (Best Picture got...awkward). But one thing was for certain: The fashion was pretty on-point.

The carpet featured almost exclusively neutral gowns (in black, white, gold or silver), allowing for the accessories to steal the show. And no accessory had a bigger night than the collar necklace.

Take Dakota Johnson here in a high-necked, long-sleeved, gold satin Gucci number. She topped her Victorian-inspired look off with a dazzling 1958 baguette-cut diamond necklace from the Cartier Paris archive collection. Jessica Biel took a similar approach in gilded feathers and a glittering column gown. And Taraji P. Henson accentuated her off-the-shoulder sweat-heart gown with a pointed bib necklace.

Take notes, ladies. A high and tight (and dripping-in-diamonds) statement piece can really take a dress to the next level.
