And rightfully so

They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade—or at least crack a good joke. And that’s exactly what Christina Haack is doing. The HGTV star's show, Christina on the Coast, was canceled but instead of dropping a dramatic statement or lengthy goodbye, she handled it with humor and a casual photo dump.

Taking to Instagram, Christina shared a carousel of recent moments from her summer so far. We’re talking cute snaps of her kids—Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, who she shares with ex Tarek El Moussa, and Hudson, 5, from her previous marriage to Ant Anstead—as well as pics of her boyfriend Christopher Larocca, friends, flowers and some tasty looking food. Her caption? “Summer so far. Basically just eating and laughing. Canceled looks good on me… Only kidding only kidding.”

It’s refreshing to see someone take a major career change with that level of grace and self-awareness. But while Christina seems to be rolling with it, fans weren’t quite as chill. The comment section quickly filled with confusion and frustration over HGTV’s decision.

“The 3 best shows on HGTV were Christina on the Coast, The Flipping El Moussas, and Izzy Does It. WTF is HGTV doing?!” one person wrote. Another added, “HGTV has lost their mind. I love Christina on the Coast.” And more than a few people echoed the sentiment, “I am BEYOND upset.”

Some fans even had ideas for her next move. “You should start your own network and bring back everyone HGTV canceled. I’d actually sign up for cable again,” one follower suggested.

Whether or not she takes them up on it, one thing's for sure: She seems to be enjoying her summer thus far.
