Christina Aguilera Wins Halloween Dressed as ‘Burlesque’ Co-Star Cher

Christina Aguilera, 42, hands down won Halloween 2023 with her fabulous Cher costume.

Just hours ago on Instagram, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer posted an array of photos and videos of her Halloween costume for this year, where she channeled her Burlesque co-star in the best way possible. (In case you haven’t seen the 2010 movie yet, the legendary singer, 77, plays the role of Tess Scali, who is the owner of the burlesque club.)

In one video shared on her profile, Aguilera is facing away from the camera. Meanwhile, dialogue from her character, Alice Marilyn (“Ali” for short), plays in the background. In an epic reveal, she turns around and unveils her Cher costume, mouthing an iconic phrase from Cher’s character in the movie.

In the video, even Aguilera’s makeup is on point, with her bold eyeshadow look and nude lip. Aguilera strikes an array of poses while twirling around a microphone. The caption read, “Tess & Ali 4EVER,” alongside white heart emojis and an infinity sign.

The next post includes a slideshow filled with photos of Aguilera in costume, completely embodying Cher from head to toe. In the caption, she dedicated a special message to her former castmate, writing, “On my favorite day of the year it's only right to turn back time and tribute the OG trailblazer @cher.”

“Cher's message through her music and style has left a permanent mark on the world and to this day, I still can't believe I had the opportunity to work with such a legend!!!!” she continued. “No one could ever fill the shoes of the great & powerful Cher. The love and respect I have for you is endless.”

And to close out the tribute, Aguilera shared a BTS video of herself getting ready. While Cher’s song “Turn Back Time” plays over the clip, the “Beautiful” singer makes her entrance.

Burlesque tells the story of a young woman named Ali (Aguilera), who leaves her small town in hopes of making it as a singer. She gets a job as a waitress at the Burlesque Lounge, hoping to get her big break. Meanwhile, Tess (Cher) is struggling to keep the club open. Together, they try to restore the place to its former glory.
