Chrissy Teigen just confirmed what we all already knew about Tom Hanks. Not only is he delightful as a human being, but he’s completely professional (even while standing in the cold for hours at last week’s inauguration special).
Over the weekend, the 35-year-old model shared a backstage photo of herself from Hanks’s primetime special Celebrating America, during which her husband, John Legend, performed. In the pic, the mother-of-two can be seen relaxing in her trailer during rehearsals of the main event. She used the caption to tell a sweet anecdote about the Toy Story actor, who remained in high spirits during rehearsals even though it was bitter cold.
“Listening to tom hanks rehearse on a hot mic makes you understand why he is such a respected and loved working icon in this industry,” she captioned part of the post. “I was waiting for just one “f*** hurry up it's f****** cold” but no. Nothing. Just kindness and professionalism. What a man.” If you didn’t know (we didn’t either), a hot mic simply means the microphone wasn’t actually supposed to be turned on. Oops.
Teigen continued, “Anyhoo I also love my boots” (referring to her pair of gray, knee-high Casadei boots).
Legend and Teigen weren’t the only ones at the monumental event, which aired on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC. While the program included statements from both President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris, it also featured a variety of special performances by Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Ant Clemons.
We suddenly feel the need for Chrissy and Tom to collaborate...
