Believe it or not, season four of This Is Us comes to a close next week. But even though the finale is nigh, don’t worry because according to Chrissy Metz (Kate), the episode is a real “doozy.”
The 39-year-old This Is Us star opened up to People about how she initially reacted to reading the finale script, saying, “Dan [Fogelman, series creator] wrote the finale. So, Dan sent it to us, I texted him immediately, and there were some redacted scenes that were secret scenes. I was like, ‘Wait. What’s going on?’ He sent me the redacted scenes, and I was like, ‘Oh!’ I mean, I was a mess,” she remembers.”
Secret scenes? Redactions? How intriguing. For a show that’s jam-packed with emotion, we can only imagine what happened to leave Metz feeling like “a mess.” She went on to add, “There’s a lot to unpack. It’s going to be a doozy of a finale.”
The episode is titled “Strangers: Part 2,” which makes it seem like a continuation of the season four premiere, which introduced Kate’s adult son Jack Damon (Blake Stadnik), Deja’s (Lyric Ross) new boyfriend Malik (Asante Blackk) and his parents Kelly (Marsha Stephanie Blake) and Darnell (Omar Epps), as well as Kevin’s love interest Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison).
