Candace Cameron-Bure Spills the Tea on Her Favorite (and Least Favorite) ’90s Fashion Trends

If there’s any character who got to live out the best and worst of ’90s fashion trends, it’s DJ Tanner aka Candace Cameron-Bure.

Cameron-Bure recently popped by the PureWow offices in New York City to unveil her new Simply Christmas holiday decor line, which meant we had a chance to take a trip down memory lane and dig deep into her favorite (and least favorite) trends, some of which were embraced by her alter ego on Full House

We discussed the best trends first: “Nineties looks that I still really like are shoulder pads,” she laughed. “Don’t hate me, but I love them.” Cameron-Bure is also all in on scrunchies. (Which, thank goodness, have made a comeback.)

As for ’90s trends she wasn’t so on board with? “DJ was never grungy, but she certainly had the plaid button-down and the jeans and the Doc Martens,” Cameron-Bure recalls. “I look back at it and I just don’t think it was a great look. Even though a lot of that is trendy now and certain people can pull it off, it just wasn’t amazing on DJ.”

We have to say we’re totally with Cameron-Bure here. Bring on the shoulder pads and scrunchies (and leave the flannel in the garage).
