Camilla Parker Bowles Just Enlisted the Help of Her Son for a Major Project

Camilla Parker Bowles’s book club, The Reading Room, is undergoing a major change. (But don’t worry, it’s only temporary.)

This week, the Duchess of Cornwall, 74, announced that her son, Tom, is joining the virtual book club. As an author of seven—we repeat, seven—cookbooks, Tom will introduce a variety of food writers to The Reading Room, all of which have been previously approved by Bowles.

Bowles announced the exciting news on the book club’s official Instagram account. The slideshow begins with a rare photo of Tom, followed by a quote that reads: “Food is the most ephemeral of subjects. Unlike painting, or literature, or film, the evidence disappears once it goes in your mouth. So, the art of great food writing is to capture that moment of delight.”

The caption read, “Over the next few weeks we will introduce a selection of cookery writers that have been handpicked by Her Royal Highness, with the help of her son, food writer and critic, Tom Parker Bowles.”

It continued, “We cordially invite Tom into the Reading Room to share with us his love of the art of great cookery writing, and to introduce us to some of his favorite writers.”

Tom is the only son from Bowles’s previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles. When he’s not pursuing the culinary arts, he’s likely spending time with his wife, Sara Buys, and their two children: Lola and Freddy.

Like mother, like son.
