We couldn’t take our eyes off of Blake Lively at the premiere of A Simple Favor, but that doesn’t mean everything was A-OK behind the scenes. In fact, the actress just admitted that she didn’t intend for her shirt to be see-through, and it all makes sense now.
On yesterday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lively discussed the New York City premiere and revealed that she had a last-minute freak-out over her outfit.
When the late-night host showed her a photo from the red carpet, the actress spilled the beans on what really happened, saying, “See the look of horror on my face? I didn’t realize it was see-through, the shirt, so that’s not a look that I was going for because it’s a men’s shirt. I didn’t know they made see-through [men’s shirts].”
So, naturally, the 31-year-old avoided a wardrobe malfunction by enlisting the help of housekeeping. “I’m in my hotel and I call and I say, ‘Hey, can I have, like, the mechanical department…I need duct tape quick,’” she added.
While the duct tape lessened the chances of a nip slip, it didn’t stop it from consuming her thoughts. “You know when you’re freaking out about something…you’re aware of it, so everything everyone says is pointing out this thing that you’re paranoid about that no one’s really noticing?” she asked.
Could have fooled us.
