From runways to red carpets all over the world, the biggest hair color trend to emerge in 2019 is—wait for it—silver.
The folks at L'Oréal Paris (aka the world's number one selling hair color brand) made the announcement after extensive analysis of trends and search data, but one has to look no further than their own Instagram feed (both #silverhair or #greyhair have 1.5 and 1.7 million posts respectively) to see that the shade is having a major moment.
Whether you opt for more of an icy almost blonde hue or a gunmetal gray, there are a variety of ways to make the color work for you. Just know upfront that there is quite a bit of bleach and upkeep involved. (We speak from personal experience.) That said, it's the most fun we've had with our hair and we're already itching to do it again. Luckily, Mother Nature seems to be speeding that process along just fine.
