‘Period. End of Sentence’ Receives the 2019 Oscar Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject)

Tonight, the stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the 91st annual Academy Awards. During the ceremony, Period. End of Sentence. won the Oscar for Best Documentary (Short Subject).

The film beat out Black Sheep, End Game, Lifeboat and A Night at the Garden.

Unlike the Best Documentary Feature category, Best Documentary (Short Subject) honors the films whose run times are no more than 40 minutes long. Previous winners include Heaven Is a Traffic Jam on the 405, The White Helmets, A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness, Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1 and The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life.

On the bright side, we can binge-watch all the nominees without wasting an entire weekend.
