The only thing better than a blockbuster movie is one that’s adapted from a novel, play, short story or TV series.
The 91st annual Academy Awards took place tonight at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and BlacKkKlansman took home the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The film edged out The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born.
The Academy first introduced the Best Adapted Screenplay category back in 1928. Previous winners include Call Me by Your Name, Moonlight, The Big Short, The Imitation Game, 12 Years a Slave and Argo.
