Ariana Grande has kept the theme of channeling her inner Glinda for her glamorous red carpet looks throughout the course of this awards season, and she certainly didn’t disappoint Sunday night at Hollywood's biggest event. Grande, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Wicked, hit the Oscar’s red carpet in a stunning dress from Schiaparelli’s Haute Couture SS25 collection, proving our theory that naked dresses are out, and structural dresses are totally *in.*
Ariana Grande's Stunning Oscars Gown Is Totally in Line with This Celeb Fashion Trend We Spotted Months Ago
I can't get enough

As PureWow Fashion Editor Abby Hepworth, who has been covering red carpet looks for nearly a decade, recently pointed out, celebrities and their stylists are beginning to realize that baring it all in a sparkling sheer number is no longer a guaranteed way to ensure red carpet coverage. “I think the biggest thing in red carpet fashion in 2025 and the years to come will be styles with attention-grabbing structural details, rather than crystal-covered sheer gauze,” Hepworth wrote, adding, “John Galliano’s Maison Margiela 2024 Artisanal Collection runway show from early last year caused a huge stir within the industry, and featured greatly exaggerated shapes (yes, with lots of sheer as well). It was fashion with a capital F and fashion folk have all been chasing that high in the months since."

Grande’s fashion choices for the promotional campaign of Wicked have certainly been along the lines of statement-making dresses paired with pastel-styled makeup for ethereal “princess” looks. For example, Grande attended the SAG Awards in late February in a pink Loewe dress, which featured floral appliqués dispersed throughout. Then there was the vintage spring 1966 Givenchy champagne-colored dress she opted to wear for the 2025 Golden Globes, which she paired with the infamous and celeb-loved Jimmy Choo “Romy” pumps.

Now, I just have to figure out how I can recreate this outfit on my own.
