This proud mama is ready to get back to work.
Only four months after she welcomed her second child, Lucia Marisol Williams, America Ferrera shared a happy breast-pumping selfie on Instagram. She wrote, "Mama goes back to work... baby and pump in tow. #pumplife."
Ferrera smiles up at the camera from her couch, where a few of Lucia's toys can also be seen. And not surprisingly, countless fellow parents offered their words of encouragement in the comments. One mom wrote, "I know that pumping life all too well, super mama!!" Another added, "You got this Mama! Beauty inside and out!"
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress and her husband, Ryan Piers Williams, welcomed their daughter on May 4th and shared the good news with fans on social media. Ferrera posted a sweet pic of Lucia's hand and wrote, "LUCIA MARISOL WILLIAMS arrived on May 4th to give me my Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself. Mama, Dada & Big Brother are over the moon to welcome her bright light to our family."
Williams also posted the same snap, adding, "The most exquisite little creature graced us with her presence on May 4, 2020. Please meet the newest member of our family, Lucia Marisol Williams. She came just in time for Mother’s Day. Everyone is healthy and happy!" The news comes two years after the couple welcomed their first child, Sebastian Piers Williams, in May of 2018.
Shortly before giving birth to Lucia, Ferrera opened up about feeling anxiety during her pregnancy because of the coronavirus. On Instagram, she said, "As this baby grows inside and I attempt to breathe through the fears and unknowns of this time, I am thinking of all you other mamas bringing new life into this world right now. And also of all the women across generations and centuries and borders who have and are currently birthing new life in the midst of so many extraordinary and daunting circumstances. Life is a miracle, and mamas make it possible through their strength and power. Hang in there pregnant mamas! We got this."
