BFF #Goals: Amal Clooney and Prince Charles Hammed It Up at the Palace Last Night

The royal apples don't fall very far from the tree.

Case in point: If Prince Charles is anything like his sons, Harry and William, the first in line to the British throne is one funny dude (with loadsssss of dad jokes). And he solidified his role as royal jester last night when he made George and Amal Clooney (the gosh darn Clooneys, you guys!) belly laugh from all the fun.

Don't believe us? Check out these pics of the star-studded trio.

That is a full on laugh-til-you-cry (possibly even pee your tux a little?) laugh. George, father to twins Ella and Alexander, looks like Prince Charles just did a stand-up routine with an impression of Brad Pitt as Chad in Burn After Reading.

And it just gets better...

Prince Charles, lover of balloons and tropical jewelry, seems to be a bit red in the face from the hilarious exchange as well (though we can't help but notice it may also be because of the glass in hand...).

While Amal and George attended the event, which was put on by Prince Charles to honor the Prince's Trust, a charity founded by Charles that supports at-risk youth, the duchesses were both not in attendance.

Kate Middleton, for her part, had her own event to attend at the National Portrait Gallery. The duchess stepped out in a repurposed Alexander McQueen gown for the Portrait Gala. Since she's a royal patron for the gallery, it seems responding with a "no" RSVP to the gala just so she could attend her father-in-law's star-studded dinner was out of the cards.

From the pictures, it seems Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were notably absent as well. Though, with the Duchess of Sussex nearing eight months of pregnancy, a night off from the fancy formal dinners, dresses and heels sounds totally understandable.

Or perhaps Megs and Henry needed a break from their father-in-law's wise-cracking. (We hear ya, fam.)
