Move Over, Meghan and Kate: Amal Showed Up to Buckingham Last Night Looking Fab in a White Cape Dress

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton may be duchesses, but Amal Clooney stepped out to a dinner at Buckingham Palace last night looking regal as hell.

Amal and George Clooney left their nearly 2-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, at home on Tuesday night to attend the dinner at Buckingham Palace. The event was put on by Prince Charles to honor the Prince's Trust, a charity founded by Charles that supports young people from ages 11 to 30 who are unemployed, struggling in school and generally at-risk.

Amal looked like a royal herself in a vintage couture gown. She wore a full-length white dress with one-shoulder cape from Jean-Louis Scherrer by Stephane Rolland that comes from the spring 2007 collection, according to Vogue.

Other A-list actors, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Luke Evans, Tamsin Egerton, Josh Hartnett and Benedict Cumberbatch, were also there.

Middleton, however, attended a different event last night at the National Portrait Gallery, for which she's a patron. From the pictures, it seems Markle and Prince Harry were notably absent as well. Though, with the Duchess of Sussex nearing eight months of pregnancy, a night off from the fancy formal dinners, dresses and heels sounds totally understandable.

We're just hoping Amal and George popped by Meghan and Harry's house afterward for aperitifs. (And a cup of tea for the royal mama-to-be!)
