In the trailer, we’re introduced to the leader of the group, One (Ryan Reynolds), who has established a career as an assassin after faking his own death. The goal? To target criminals using a series of high-tech schemes, all while trying to remain anonymous.
“The best part of being dead is the freedom. No policies or politics,” Reynolds’s character says in the clip. “We answer to no one. We could take out some truly evil people.”
In addition to Reynolds, the movie also stars Mélanie Laurent (Inglourious Basterds), Dave Franco (Now You See Me), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Murder on the Orient Express), Adria Arjona (Good Omens), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) and Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody).
6 Underground is directed by Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor), who also serves as an executive producer alongside Ian Bryce (Saving Private Ryan), David Ellison (Top Gun: Maverick), Dana Goldberg (Mission: Impossible—Fallout) and Don Granger (Jack Reacher). Rhett Reese (Deadpool) and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) penned the script.
You had us at Ryan Reynolds. 6 Underground will hit Netflix on Friday, December 13.
