For those looking to spruce up their guest room or simply to save space in a cozy apartment, a Murphy bed can free up room while not in use by folding back up into the wall. This Wayfair best-seller, which comes in Full/Double and Queen sizes, does exactly that but with the added bonus of looking fabulously chic thanks to two built-in bookshelves flanking either side. When it’s folded up, the underside of the bed looks like two cabinet doors to blend seamlessly in with the rest of your room. And as the video above shows, there’s even room above the mattress to hang some artwork or even a slim reading light.

There are three colors to choose from—bark gray, chocolate and white—each featuring bookshelves to either side of the mattress with two fixed and three adjustable shelves. Reviewers rave about how great the set looks once put together, and how easy it is to convert their home office into a guest room and back again when needed. The only caveat? You really need a professional team to build and secure it.
Multiple reviewers said they were able to put the Murphy bed together with the help of a partner, but unless you have the right tools and experience, you’re likely best off letting the pros handle everything and save yourself the headache. “Really solid construction and looks great, either as a bed, or put away,” writes one happy shopper. “Boxes were SUPER heavy; we needed help so hired contractors.
