Flip the lid and you get a felt-lined storage well that’s deeper than it looks. I keep a rattan tray in the center with my daily lineup—foundation, concealer, SPF, brow gel, lipstick—so everything lifts out in one move. Around the edge sit compacts and balms, while brushes stand upright near the hinge so the bristles don’t splay. There’s even room along the front for my Dyson round-brush attachment, plus setting spray, clips and deodorant. The upholstery is soft and luxe to the touch, but it’s also a bit delicate, so you’ll want to be careful about scratching the felt lining (vacuum attachments can be especially unforgiving).
Then, on TikTok’s advice, I added a $13 strip of stick-on globe bulbs around the mirror—peel, stick, plug—and the difference is immediate: shadow-free, studio-level lighting for liner and shade matching. And a few other tiny tweaks that TikTok recommends: cable-clipping the bulb cord behind the mirror, adding felt bumpers so the lid closes softly and keeping a thin silicone heat mat tucked along the edge to protect the lining and stop hot tools from rolling into my blush.
One thing worth flagging, however, is that many reviewers said their mirrors spontaneously shattered after months of use. I haven’t had that issue—likely because I always keep mine open thanks to the globe lights—but it’s worth noting if you tend to keep the lid closed.
Size and Comfort
Most importantly, the proportions are a win for small spaces. At 25 by 23.6 by 31 inches, it’s compact without veering into dollhouse territory. Plus, the stool—just under 20 inches wide with a cushioned polyfiber seat—impressed me: it’s comfortable enough that I’ve ended up lingering here, doing makeup in the morning and tapping out emails at night. The rounded base also means no bruised shins in a narrow room, and in my case, it slid perfectly into the 23-inch corner by my bedroom door (a space that rejected even a skinny bookshelf). When the stool is docked, the footprint condenses into a neat cylinder, the lid clears the wall when opened, and the mirror stays steady thanks to the chain catch.
