6 Celebs Who Are Selling Their NYC Homes—and 4 Who Just Moved In

It’s no surprise celebrities love NYC—aside from the fact that everything happens here, it’s one of the few places they can roam around freely like normal human beings without being bombarded by starstruck onlookers. Still, while we might play it cool when spotting a celeb on the street, we have absolutely no shame when it comes to  gawking at their gorgeous abodes.

j lo apartment list
Modlin Group/Streeteasy

J.lo (nomad)

On the market for $27 million

Yep, Jenny from the block is moving out. To where? We’re not quite sure, though if we had to guess, she’s probably moving in with boyfriend and former Yankee A-Rod. The stunning penthouse in NoMad, which has breathtaking views of Madison Square Park and the Flatiron District, features Italian marble slab bathrooms, a private bedroom wing and a south-facing terrace (along with two more attached to the master bedroom)—and that’s just a few key highlights.

sting apartment list

Sting (lincoln Square)

On the market for $56 million

Believe it or not, the “Desert Rose” crooner found this duplex penthouse—which includes 140 feet of park frontage and two floors—a bit too stuffy for him and wife Trudie Styler. We have to disagree, considering the fact that most of us would be ecstatic to live in just a fraction of the 5,417-square-foot residence, which includes four bedrooms, 5 and a half bathrooms, a spa-worthy walk-in-shower, a 400-foot terrace and insane views of Central Park.

Seth Meyers (greenwich Village)

On the market for $4.5 million

Who would have thought a cool $4.5 mil would ever sound humble? But we give it up to Seth Meyers for his stunning “starter” home with wife Alexi Ashe. The duo bought this West Village condo back in 2013 for a $3.5 million (look at that return on investment!) and are now seeking a bigger home to accommodate the newest addition to their family, a son named Ashe, whom they welcomed last year.

katie couric apartment list

Katie Couric (carnegie Hill)

On the market for $8.25 million

The beloved news anchor has already been living in her new Upper East Side condo for more than a year, but is only now ready to give up her former humble abode on Park Avenue and 92nd Street, which she called home for years. The 4,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom apartment (does something this size count as an apartment?) is pretty spacious, to say the least, and is where Couric raised her two daughters. But we can’t feel too sorry for her: Her new pad on the UES is just as big.

beyonce apartment list

Beyonce And Jay-z (sutton Place)

On the market for $10 million

*Was on the market. Of course, anyone who has the cash flow would be crazy (in love) not to want to live in a home where power couple Bey and Jay once roamed. The picture-perfect, 44th-floor condo in Midtown boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, panoramic views of Central Park, interior finishes (selected by Paris designer Jacques Grange himself), a master bedroom with a steam shower and much, much more. But don’t worry: Bey, Jay, Blue and the twins still have their Tribeca loft to lay low in when they’re hanging around Manhattan (not to mention a $26 million estate in the Hamptons).

emily blunt apartment list

Emily Blunt And John Krasinski (park Slope)

On the market for $8 million

This too-cute couple would live in Park Slope, right? But they say they just don’t spend enough time there in between demanding film careers and constant trips to L.A. The charming townhouse, built in 1909 and smack-dab in the heart of the Park Slope Historic District, features four stories, seven bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms. It’s so amazing that Krasinski’s having a tough time letting go. “The house is so special—someone who can spend every night there should have it,” he told The Wall Street Journal.

obama apartment list
Brown Harris Stevens/Streeteasy

The Obamas (upper East Side)

Reportedly purchased for $10 million

Perhaps the most exciting real estate news of the decade is the fact that the former president and first lady are reportedly settling down and enjoying their post-White House years in NYC. While we can’t catch a glimpse at the classic prewar apartment in the building known as 10 Gracie Square, we can only assume that it’s absolutely wonderful and that Michelle will fill the fridge with healthy snacks and decorate it with warm colors and deliciously fragrant candles.

bon jovi apartment list

Bon Jovi (greenwich Village)

Reportedly purchased for $19.5 million

The Jersey-born rockstar is well-known for flipping real estate, but it seems he’s finally settled on a place he just might stay in for a while. This corner condo in a 14th-floor unit is his latest purchase, with sweeping views of the Hudson River (so he can stare at his beloved New Jersey, obv) and Downtown Manhattan, a private south-facing Juliet balcony, floor-to-ceiling windows, rich hardwood floors, an enormous walk-in closet, glass-enclosed shower, a 40-foot living room...all right, we’ll stop.

matt damon apartment list

Matt Damon (brooklyn Heights)

Reportedly purchased for $16.6 million

The Boston-“Bourne” boy (we had to) is apparently looking to take advantage of the Brooklyn waterfront boom. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Good Will Hunting actor is in contract for a top-floor conglomerate of apartments in the brand-spanking-new building The Standish that would make this the most expensive sale ever for the entire borough. (NBD.) In addition to some pretty baller amenities, the building offers spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline.

chris noth apartment list

Chris Noth (lenox Hill)

Reportedly purchased for $1.85 million

Mr. Big is back in town! Just kidding—he never left. In addition to his East Village pad on 35 East Ninth Street, the Sex and the City and The Good Wife star is reportedly looking for a spot uptown. The fairly modest two-bedroom co-op is oozing with old-school charm, with its prewar features including crown moldings, high ceilings and herringbone floors.
