Just because our wine consumption has gone up in the last few months, doesn't mean we need to be hungover in every early Zoom meeting—and that also doesn't mean we have to give up our well-deserved night cap, either. Today, May 20, our favorite wine delivery brand, Winc, launched its newest venture: The Wonderful Wine Co., which is the company's very first clean, organic range of vino, which features red, white, rosé and limited-edition orange varieties. What makes clean wine different than everything else, you ask?

Well, for starters, clean wine is, dare we say, healthier. Winc founder Brian Smith wanted to make something that health-conscious drinkers could reach for without hesitation. Think of it like the cold-pressed juices of the wine world, with each variety being sustainably farmed, low-sulfite (making it less likely to cause those excruciating hangover headaches), low-carb (hello, keto and paleo friends), made with organic grapes and free of added sugar, pesticides, chemical additives and animal byproducts. Which leads us to our next point: The Wonderful Wine Co.'s four wines are vegan, meaning they're made without gelatin, egg whites and casein (a protein found in milk), which are all commonly used to offset a naturally bitter taste present in certain types of wine.

The Wonderful Wine Co.'s wines feature more than just clean, vegan, sustainable ingredients; they're also packaged and shipped using sustainable practices, which isn't true of many other wine brands. Think lightweight glass bottles that require 20 percent less energy and 12 percent less water to product than a typical 750ml wine bottle. Plus, they bottle their wines closer to when they'll actually sell, reducing CO2 emissions by 40 percent. To top it all off, The Wonderful Wine Co. also uses insulated blankets for shipping and recycled (and recyclable) cardboard boxes for transport.

OK, now to the good stuff: Where do we sign up? Well, if you're a Winc member, you can add any of the bottles to your monthly shipment or buy them à la carte for $18 a piece (except for the limited-edition orange blend). Not a member? Sign up with code MEMORIALDAY45 for 45 percent off your first purchase of Winc through May 25. Or, you can shop them by cases of three ($60), six ($110) or 12 ($215) on The Wonderful Wine Co.'s website. When you take into account that clean, organic wine is often only found at specialty stores, for a much higher markup, the price is suddenly well worth it.
