During the week of April 21, the chain will dole out one million Double Smashers at this super low price exclusively through the Sonic app. In case you haven’t had the pleasure of eating one before, the burger is hand-smashed and cooked to order. It stars two Angus beef patties, two slices of American cheese, signature Smasher sauce, crinkle-cut pickles and diced onions, all atop a potato bun.
Released last year, the Double Smasher lives up to its name with the beef’s paper-thin thickness, crispy edges and juicy interior. I got to try the Double Queso Smasher when reviewing Sonic’s winter menu and can attest to its magic. I loved the fluffy potato bun and that there were pickled jalapeños instead of fresh, making for an acidic foil to the indulgent cheese and beef. With the O.G., I’d imagine pickled cucumbers do the same, minus the heat.
