According to our friends at Whole Foods, seaweed snacks are on the up and up (seaweed chips, we see you).

But we’re also seeing tons of kelp pasta (it’s gluten-free, keto, Paleo and raw!), kelp butter (yum, umami), kelp salt and kelp broths. Grab all of these tasty, tasty treats from Whole Foods, your local health foods store or Amazon.

60 Minutes recently ran a segment on why kelp farming might save our planet. Ever heard of a term called ocean acidification? Put simply, the ocean absorbs all of the extra carbon dioxide emitted by burning fossil fuels. As a result, it becomes more acidic, and the delicate shells of creatures like oysters, mussels and corals erode. Yikes. Much like a forest of trees, kelp soaks up enormous amounts of carbon dioxide and could re-balance the ocean's pH, thereby saving the ocean.

Hooray for kelp. Get a jump on the trend and try our tasty Kelp and Zucchini Noodle Pad Thai.
