If you didn't read the memo, Y2K is back and bigger than ever. Yup, we've been dabbling in all the trends like scarf tops, baguette bags and hair crimping. And it's no surprise that the late '90s and early '00s looks are making waves on TikTok. While millennials are thinking, "How was this 15 years ago???," Gen-Z is discovering these styles for the first time and they can't get enough of them.

One thing we thought would stay in the vault forever? Tracksuits, specifically Juicy Couture's. The velvety, bedazzled sets made famous by celebs like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Beyoncé are getting a modern revival. If you ever wanted to live out your Mean Girls dream then buckle up because here's how you can achieve the look again.

Y2K Fashion Is Back. Here’s How to Wear It in 2021Without Looking Like a Spice Girl

So how did this style get popular again? TikTokers are finding these hidden gems in thrift stores (among other Y2K brands like True Religion, Baby Phat and Tommy Girl). There's also been an uptick on sites like Poshmark (which are selling these tracksuits for up to $100 BTW). Let's be honest, whenever you highlight a product on the platform you bound to see a surge in everyone trying to get their hands on it.

But nostalgic feelings aside, the numbers don't lie either. Searches for "Juice Couture Tracksuits" are up by 110 percent on Google Trends, while there's more than 129 million views on TikTok with the same hashtag. It looks like this Y2K fashion item is not going away anytime soon.

For some us, it was a love-hate relationship with velour tracksuits. But recently, the rise has brought a new found love for the comfort, '00s history and surprisedly outrageous embellishments on the back (especially when "Juicy" was written in big letters on your behind). Plus, with midriff sets, '90s revivals and sweater vests being some of the biggest trends of fall, we can see why cozy and bold looks are in.

Celebs and influencers like Dua Lipa, Sofia Richie and the queen of Y2K herself, Paris Hilton, has even sported a tracksuit or two in the last couple of months. This growing style also inspired Kim Kardashian to launch a SKIMS line of velour tracksuits back in December of 2020 (which is so popular there's a waitlist).

But the real kicker is Juicy Couture has returned and collaborated with Forever 21 to bring the look back in stores. Hmm...we'd like to think TikTok had a hand in bringing it back on the map.

So, are you going to relive the trend or try it for the first time? Also, how do we feel about pairing it with Uggs? (Probably a discussion for another day.)
