A few years back, my workdays looked much different than they do now. Working in a hospital setting, I'd be on my feet for a good portion of the day, running (sometimes quite literally) around the unit, for 8-, 12- or even 16-hour shifts. And after trying out a few different footwear options that would keep my feet from aching through the long days, I settled on a pair from Vessi for their supportive construction, slip-on style and waterproof fabric that would keep my feet dry and protected. (The Everyday Classic design was my choice then.) After hearing me rave over how good they were, my brother (who worked at the same hospital as I did at the time) got into the brand too. "I picked up my pair of Vessi shoes for the waterproof feature but ended up loving them and wearing them daily for how comfortable they were. My feet never hurt wearing them, no matter how active the day was," he shared.

So why am I bringing this up now? Well, I've tried a lot of popular athletic shoes designed to be comfortable over the past couple of years, but they were never quite right. So recently, I thought back about some of the comfiest sneakers I’ve ever had, and I knew it was time to go back to Vessi. This time, I chose the Weekend sneakers ($140) for their versatile look that works just as well for walking a few miles with my dog as it does for a day out shopping.

Everything You Need to Know About the Vessi Weekend Sneakers

Vessi

While it's true that I don't quite need the waterproof Dyma-tex material now that I’m living in sunny L.A. and working from home nearly every day, I don't appreciate it any less. The fabric is super flexible (so much so that I didn't have to break it in at all—despite unexpectedly standing for a few hours straight my first time wearing the sneakers). Not to mention, it's lightweight, so on the occasions that I do still find myself wearing them all day long, they never weigh me down—and haven't left so much as a single blister. (Another bonus: Since the shoes are washable, I had zero hesitations about ordering a light-colored pair.)

A few other things you might want to know? The Weekend sneakers are made with fully vegan materials and contain no PFAS (which are often present in other waterproof clothes, shoes and accessories). To make Vessi shoes waterproof, the brand engineers the knit with nano-sized pores that keeps water from seeping into the shoes, while still allowing for airflow to keep them breathable.

As for their comfort, well, you can probably already guess that I'm a big fan—and I'm not the only one. "Love them! Wore them for the first time to a golf tournament in the rain and they were super comfortable, and my feet stayed dry," shared one of the more than 21,000 shoppers who have reviewed them. The sneakers are made with a cushioned midsole that provides just the right amount of arch support for me, and the relaxed fit keeps my toes from feeling squished. The only downside is that the shoes only come in whole sizes, and I did find them to run a bit large, but it was nothing that couldn't be remedied with a thicker pair of socks.

Overall, I'm *so* glad I made the switch back to Vessi for comfortable sneakers that I can wear daily, and I'll be wearing my Weekend sneakers nonstop for the foreseeable future. BTW, besides being offered in both men's and women's sizes, they're available for kids ($60), too, in a range of colors and in sizes 11 through four. (Did I just sort out my niece and nephew's Christmas gifts months in advance?!) You might want to get the whole fam in on the brand like I have.
