Sézane has long been on our radar for its iconic, French girl looks. The brand’s founder, Morgane Sézalory, launched the Paris-based brand in 2013, with a core identity that honored vintage-inspired clothing. But it was the brand’s signature “je ne sais quoi” that helped it quickly gain a devoted following and become a global phenomenon known for its silk blouses, classic trench coats and knitwear. ( Shopping the original sweater bar at Sézane’s flagship store in Paris is an experience like no other.)
Thirteen years later, Sézalory was ready for a re-launch. Just in time for fall 2026, Sézane unveiled its new identity, a mix of forever favorites (yes, the Clyde trench coat is still a centerpiece) as well as several new entries that feel special and luxe. The brand also recently opened its third New York City location on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side, joining its existing boutiques in Nolita and Brooklyn.
I was thrilled to have the chance to pop in and test several new sweater bar arrivals from Sézane’s fall collection. Below, 8 of my favorite styles, plus details on the fit.

1. Jeanne Jumper
Sézane
The flax yellow hue, the oversized bell sleeves, the boat neckline—this sweater jumped out to me immediately when perusing the site. But at 5’2”, would the voluminous silhouette overwhelm my petite frame? I consulted the size guide and tried on a medium, which bloused in all the right places and felt both flattering and chic. (I especially loved the last-minute in-store decision to pair it with the Sandra necklace.) The sleeves were a smidge long on me, but nothing a little scrunching couldn’t fix. I’m also forever convinced that a mustardy shade of yellow is the most universally flattering hue.
- Material: 38 percent polyamide*, 35 percent merino wool, 26 percent super kid mohair, 1 percent elastane (*20 percent recycled polyamide)
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
2. Sézane Joseph Jumper
Sézane
To say this sweater surprised me is an understatement. When I saw it online, I admired its elegance, but worried about the bulk at the neckline. A removable scarf is so chic, n’est-ce pas? But also something that a gal with a shorter frame could get swallowed up by. My in-store try-on is proof: This jumper is flattering on petites and carries so much visual interest. My favorite part is that it feels pre-styled. For anyone looking for a low-effort look that still feels like effort was made, this is it. As for the feel? The baby alpaca makes this piece huggable and soft.
- Material: 68 percent baby alpaca, 30 percent polyamide*, 2 percent elastane (*20 percent recycled polyamide)
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
3. Sézane Manon Cardigan
Sézane
I definitely could have sized down in this cardigan. The design is oversized, but in a medium, I also liked having the ability to use the double zipper closure to toggle the fit. The roominess made this a style that I could easily see throwing on with jeans or leggings to run errands on a chillier day. But the weight of the material made it still feel elevated enough to wear for a dinner out. I especially love the flap of the marine collar, which adds structure and architectural interest while drawing the eye upward.
- Material: 50 percent merino wool, 50 percent organic cotton
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
4. Sézane Selene Jumper
Sézane
Another fit that pleasantly surprised me? This rugby-inspired sweater. The cream and navy color palette, paired with the front button placket felt crisp and distinctive compared to the more neutral silhouettes. I’ll note that even in a medium, the length felt a bit more cropped. But I found the style to be flattering and easy to style.
- Material: 100 percent merino wool
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
5. Sézane Othello Burgundy
Sézane
As far as rich burgundy hues go, this colorway from Sézane felt ultra-luxe. I was inspired to test it a couple of different ways—over the Many Dress, another classic look and more simply with a pair of jeans. (Peep Rocky the dog, an unofficial mascot for the brand, crashing my pic.) I loved the length of this sweater, but also the way it draped over my shoulders. I could see this becoming a staple in my work bag for chillier days, but also to elevate any night out on the town.
- Material: 68 percent baby alpaca, 30 percent polyamide*, 2 percent elastane (*20 percent recycled polyamide)
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
6. Théo Jumper
Sézane
I’m sad to report that this sweater is sold out—it comes in a trio of colorways (I tested the greige taupe), so fingers crossed it will be restocked soon. I tested the medium here, based on the size charts, and perhaps could have sized down one. Still, the oversize fit and the way this sweater bloused? It was an instant favorite. It felt pretty and polished and, even on someone petite like myself, delivered volume in all the right ways. The length also features a bit of a crop, which only helped to elevate the fit. (I should add that it’s also ultra-warm.)
- Material: 100 percent merino wool
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
7. Malo Cardigan
Sézane
Most of the cardigans in my closet lean toward the bulky side, but this one offers a welcome change of pace.I especially love the button detailing straight down the front, which helped add visual interest to an otherwise all-black look. I stuck with the medium here and was glad I did since I felt this was quite cropped. But this sweater speaks to my favorite part about every Sézane style: It’s quite comfortable, but a little bit sexy, too.
- Material: 38 percent polyamide*, 35 percent merino wool, 26 percent super kid mohair, 1 percent elastane (*20 percent recycled polyamide)
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
8. Sézane Emile Cardigan
Sézane
Full disclosure: I’m a repeat shopper when it comes to Sézane’s tried-and-true Emile cardigan. I love the way it fits, tucked or untucked, not to mention the range of colors. The dark pearl felt particularly elegant and I love the subtle Grandma feel of the ribbed pearl knit. I already own this in two different colorways, but I’m considering going back for this one. (I’m also glad that this is a style that remained in rotation alongside Sézane’s rebrand.)
- Material: 55 percent alpaca, 30 percent polyamide*, 15 percent wool (*22 percent recycled polyamide)
- Size Range: XXS to XXXL
