Plus-size girlies, let’s go back in time for a second. You’re in middle school. You’re stuck at the mall on a random Saturday with your friends, and everyone’s raving about their latest fashion finds from all the trendy shops, while you’re stuck with that neat accessory you just happened to find in passing. We all know the story. One store I distinctly remember all my friends raving about: Abercrombie & Fitch. In the early aughts, Abercrombie was the place to be if you wanted to seem fashionable or cool. Yet, if you’re like me and had to watch the fun from a distance due to their limited size range, you never really got to experience the hype of those highly sought-after jeans and ruffle tops. Now in 2025, that isn’t exactly the case.

The retailer has extended its sizing to 37/US 24, with the brand now offering up to a 38/US 26, and a dedicated ‘Curve Love’ line, which was made to offer extra room around the hip and thigh area. Considering their original size range only went a US 10, that’s a big improvement, to say the least. This also isn’t to say that the brand doesn’t still have some work to do. The new and “improved” size range is still tricky to find in-store, with online shopping being the only option to snag some items. Plus-size customers should be afforded the same luxury of trying items on in-store as any other customer, but until then, let me and my shopping spidey sense be your guide.

Last year, I personally tested a few items (for the first time, might I add) with other plus-size editors, and we shared the honest truths about Abercrombie’s size extension—the good, the bad and the ugly. We all came to the same conclusion: It could use a little work. But as someone who knows their way around shopping as a plus-size consumer, I’ve discovered that the brand has a few hits among curvy shoppers, and now I’m sharing my finds with you. From items I’ve tried and adored to bestsellers with rave reviews from curvy fashionistas, here are ten of the best plus-size items to shop from Abercrombie & Fitch right now.

How I Chose the Best Plus-Size Abercrombie Items

To choose the best plus-size Abercrombie & Fitch items, I first turned to my closet, taking note of what pieces from the brand I’ve been loving, and how they fit me and my body shape. For reference, I’m sized between a US 20-24, and tend to look for items with tons of stretch. I also combed through hundreds of reviews, dutifully looking for ones left by shoppers sized 33 (roughly a US 16) and up. All of this research produced a short but mighty list of ten items that plus-size customers would definitely recommend (and share in the group chat).

Can a Plus-Size Person Wear Abercrombie & Fitch in 2024? Our Editors Put the Brand to the Test

This pair of top-selling trousers was one of the first items I purchased from Abercrombie with my own coin, and let me just say, they’re a top-seller for a reason. I find myself lounging around the house in them, and even throwing them on for a quick errand day. They’re casual enough to pair with my favorite comfy sweatshirt, but also dressy enough to style with an elevated blouse. I love that they’re available in several colors and lengths, plus feel roomy enough that they’re not stuffy around the waist. Trust me, the $90 price point is justifiable.

  • Materials: 87 percent polyester, 9 percent viscose, 4 percent elastane

2. Cable Crew Cardigan

Abercrombie & Fitch

After trying (and loving) a cozy turtleneck from the brand last year, I can wholeheartedly say that Abercrombie’s knitwear is a safe buy for any curvy gal. Their knits feel luxe and soft, with an ample amount of stretch to them. This one is easy-fitting and runs large according to reviewers.

  • Sizing: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: 82 percent polyester, 7 percent acrylic, 6 percent nylon, 3 percent wool, 2% elastane

Trying to find chic but comfortable jeans is a universal experience, no matter your size. I’ve had discrepancies with Abercrombie jeans in the past (which I discussed in the review), and truthfully, I’m still on the hunt for a pair that makes me want to shout from the rooftops. Until then, I’ve been relying on reviews from other curvy fashion lovers to guide me to my denim North Star, which brings me to this pair. “Quality is phenomenal and the fit is really great too! Definitely recommend & for a ‘loose’ jean, it’s very structured,” writes one size 20 customer. Other reviews state this pair especially fits great if you have a smaller waist and larger hips.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: 23 to 38
  • Materials: 99 percent cotton, 1 percent elastane

4. Oversized Poplin Shirt

ABercrombie & Fitch

Here’s a plus-size shopping tip for you: Look for oversize items. When shopping from brands with questionable sizing, I always gravitate towards oversize pieces first because they tend to have a lot of extra fabric and room to work with. Enter this crisp poplin shirt that’ll be perfect for building your ideal capsule wardrobe.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: 60 percent cotton, 40 percent polyester

5. Curve Love High Rise Loose Jean

Abercrombie & Fitch

With the Y2K resurgence, loose bottoms are flooding current fashion trends, and show no signs of stopping. This pair is a new style in Abercrombie’s denim repertoire but has already been quickly labeled a win by many customers. I think if you’re searching for jeans with more room around the thigh area, these are the right pair for you.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: 23 to 38
  • Materials: 78 percent cotton, 22 percent lyocell

6. Essential Vintage Sunday Half-Zip

Abercrombie & Fitch

This is a somewhat biased find, but I could wear a half- or quarter-zip every day for the rest of my life. But what makes this one particularly so admirable? Shoppers note that this runs incredibly large *and* is notably cozy. Some reviewers who typically go for an XXL or above write that the XL fits perfectly, if not roomier than average.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: 70 percent cotton, 30 percent polyester

I’m prone to love a good high rise, but I know that isn’t the case for every wide-hipped fashion gal. So, if you’re not a fan of OG Sloane pants, try it out in a different rise. Reviewers are obsessed with this pair, and some curvy shoppers even find them more flattering than the original due to how they fall on the waist. They also come in a myriad of colors and sizes, so you’ll without a doubt find the right pair for you.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: 23 to 37
  • Materials: 80 percent polyester, 16 percent viscose, 4 percent elastane

8. Mid-Rise Wrap Skort

Abercrombie & Fitch

It may be frigid and freezing now, but spring will be here before we know it. In preparation for those warmer airy temps and the best season IMO, feast your eyes on this mid-rise skort that’s surprisingly spacious and high-quality. One plus-size customer writes, “Okay—this skirt is everything you didn’t know you needed and more. It is cozy and warm and high quality. It is lined. It’s the perfect length. I’m usually a size 20 and the XXL is slightly big/loose but [it’s] definitely okay. Would have considered ordering both sizes at the same time had I known but it’s not bad enough to warrant a return for a different size!”

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: 59 percent wool, 36 percent polyester, 3 percent acrylic, 2 percent nylon

9. Soft Matte Seamless Tee Bodysuit

Abercrombie & Fitch

Don’t sleep on Abercrombie’s basics. Out of all the items I tested in our editor review, the now-discontinued cotton T-shirt is the only item I found to be truly life-changing. While this bodysuit is designed from a nylon blend, it’s reportedly just as comfy and soft, with nearly 1,000 5-star reviews. It comes in over ten colors, with the option to purchase regular or tall fit depending on your torso length.

Fast Facts

  • Sizing: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: 79 percent nylon, 21 percent elastane

If you’re on the fence about purchasing a dress from Abercrombie, don’t be. This cutesy top-rated number is highly recommended by customers who are on the bustier side due to the noted extra room in the chest. The puffy sleeves also run slightly spacious, so it won’t feel smothering. Plus, it’ll be a great pickup for spring, don’t ya think?
