What’s more simple summer chic—especially during a heat wave—than just reaching into your closet and pulling out a pair of pants, pairing with a simple top and designer flip-flops, and heading out the door? That’s been my strategy for dressing lately as the temperature is reaching 100 degrees, and as a 5’3” woman, I’m not interested in a trip to the tailor for hemming. I’ve tested 7 pairs of petite linen pants I’m wearing this season, ranging from the perfect white pair to a number that fits right into the Portuguese girl style trend.

These nubby-textured pants have a 26-inch inseam and a straight-leg design, so the regular fit looks proportional even on a petite woman like me. They’re 30 percent hemp, which gives a natural breathability and linen-look. The zip fly and belt loops in the front make these appropriate as office pants, and there’s just a touch of front pleating. I like how the elastic back waist panel is wide and not too stiff—overall, the perfect vacay-to-office trouser.

Everlane
These pants are so lightweight and breeze that they feel like wearing shorts. A 26.5-inch inseam means they’re not dragging the ground, even when I’m pairing with ultra-flat flip flops, and the high waist lengthens the line of the gathered design. I really liked that these pants have a drawstring hem, so I wear them multiple ways: Drawn tight, they fit into the recent harem pants look, and loosen, these look more trad trouser. And the side cargo pockets don’t look too bulky, usually a red flag for short-legged gals like me. I wear mine with the brand’s matching crossbank tank ($88; $44)—because matching sets are so summer 2025.

Boden
I put these pants on when I want to feel happy—the brilliant stripes, the slim cut through the hips and thigh and the comfy half-elastic waistband add up to perfect summer dressing. The petite version of these come with a 28-inch inseam, which on my legs falls over my sandals like a full-length pant, so ultra-petites will want to wear these with a flatform or short heel. And, always a bonus with linen, these pants are machine-washable on the gentle cycle.

The 11-inch rise on these pants looks elegant and pairs well with a crop top or a swing top. The narrow pull-on silhouette is ultra-flattering, so it’s no wonder the oat colorway is almost completely sold out. (Rich raisin and pale pink are gorg and still plentiful.) The petite has a 28-inch inseam.

There’s a reason why the Colette is PureWow readers’ favorite pants—the universally flattering high rise and “magic fabric” are game-changers. These full-leg pants in a poppy green stripe have cute front patch pockets and are so, so soft even without washing. Best of all, the pattern is so retro-cool that it’s going to make a whole outfit no matter what you wear with it.

Quince
The 25 ¾ inseam means these definitely drag on the floor; together with the easy tapered shape, these are a universal winner for fit. I wear my Quince linen pants to sleep in, then throw on an oversized top or a tank top, and I’m ready for an iced coffee and a day of errands. At this price, buy multiples—these come in seven wearable neutrals.

7. Everlane Everywhere Pant in Stretch Linen
Everlane
This popular Everlane pants shape has been iterated in linen this season, and I love the fabric’s lightweight feel as well as the bit of give around the waist thanks to the bit of stretch. The inseam is 27.5 inches, so it’s a full-length shape for petites, and the gentle curve of the leg makes it look more streamlined than many linen pants. Plus these have a flat, non-elastic waistband, which means they’re a bit crisper looking than elastic or drawstring designs.

- Material: 55 percent European flax linen, 43 percent viscose, 2 percent elastane
